Planet earth is being silently ravaged. Unknown to the mass populations of the planet, two dark forces are both striving for power...
Goku, warrior from planet Vegeta; sent to Earth as a child to destroy it's populace and claim the planet in the name of Vegeta. Being found upon landing and subsequently raised by the great Earth warrior Gohan gave Goku a lucky start in Earth life. However, Gohan's Buddhist influenced approach was detested and despised by the young saiyajin, who after some time in his care, killed his 'grandfather' in a violent act of liberation. Gohan had feared his such wanton behaviour from his 'grandson' and had tried to keep the existence of the Dragonballs from him, however, after his murder Goku discovered Gohan's Dragonball and the and scroll outlining the lore that came with it. Inspired by the tale of the Dragonballs and the fabled wish, Goku set out to find and gather all the Dragonballs in a desperate bid to gain immortality, and ultimate power for himself and for his people on planet Vegeta.
Unknown to Goku, another force seeks the Dragonballs...
A one, Piccolo Daimao the Demon King and his demon kin, have been scouring the earth in search of the Dragonballs and their one wish. His wish? To restore his power and reign as ruler of the people of Earth! Yet, the cards are stacked and are continuing to stack against him. His powers are waning and are not what they once were, his youth is long gone and death beckons him ever closer to it's doors. But though his power is in decline, his shrewd intellect and cunning is still chief among the deity's of Earth. Using this intellect, Piccolo's eye has fallen on the World Martial Arts Tournament, and the gathering of the brightest and strongest of Earths warriors. What malicious and fiendish plans could he have in store for them? What malevolencies and tribulations has he conjured for the Folk of Earth? Only time will tell...
In spite of all these secret affairs, the humans of Earth are celebrating! Why? Because the World Martial Arts Championships are back! All the greatest fighters, top contenders and crowd favorites from across the globe are gathering together for that special time of year! Who will be crowned the victor? The ultimate fighting champion? Nobody knows, not with so many top contenders! So lets roll out the red carpet and get things started!
(That's right folks to kick this board off we'll be having a martial arts tournament! So sign up, get approved and put your name down! There will be decent PL gains from the bouts alone [setting you up to go into the next story arc.] The winner and close second will also receive prizes. For the top spot, you'll get to pick a new Ki technique, or come up with your own without having to train to achieve it, you'll just know it after that, neat right? On top of that you'll also receive a 25% PL increase, so whatever your PL is after the tournament, we'll work out 25% of it and add it to your total. For second place, You'll get a free Ki technique! So it's all worth playing for here at Ichi. But there will be no real losers, as every fight will give out PL gains to all, so everybody should be feeling pretty sweet afterwards!)
