Aki is a kind-hearted, generous individual. He's the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back even if that was all he had left. It is unfortunate, but Aki's genorosity has led to him being taken advantage of in the past. Those who know him call it his greatest flaw; he's too nice to know when he's being taken advantage of. Even though he IS nice, he is also very blunt. As he puts it, "the truth is the truth. And sometimes the truth is painful." Being a "champion of the weak," Aki is always looking to defend those too weak to defend themselves and he is likely to become hostile when a friend or teammate is taking advantage of or intimidating a weaker person.

Early Childhood
Aki grew up in a suburb in West City with a very loving mother and father. He was an only child, and thus has a hole in his heart that only a sibling can fill, but other than that, his childhood was great. His father went on business trips frequently, and loved to take Aki and his mother with him. So, Aki has seen a lot of places and developed a love for travelling. He also saw many injustices in the world.
Adolescence
As he grew older, Aki liked to take walks in slums and poor parts of towns to learn more about their plight and ways that he could help. At his high school, he attended and organized many fundraisers to help West City's poor. At the age of 16, he participated in a charity martial arts tournament at his school to benefit an organization to get the homeless off the streets. This tournament, though he lost terribly, awakened his love of battle and martial arts. That, he began to train in the martial art of Pencak Silat. His sensei discovered that he was a quick learner, and so bumped him up to the advanced class, where he learned such moves as the Rush Burst. He quickly rose to the highest rank in his dojo, and continued with his advanced training.
Early Adulthood
As soon as he graduated High School, Aki went on a trip around the world helping people. In the desert, while helping out a small community of desert dwellers build a well, Aki met a man by the name of Yamcha. At first, they butted heads over their differing morals, but after spending some time together, a little bit of Aki rubbed off on Yamcha, and so he helped Aki and the villagers build a well. Aki and Yamcha bonded from that, and after learning that Aki was a martial artist, taught him his signature move as a token of their new friendship; the Wolf Fang Fist. After three years, his trip was finished. He returned home and currently lives with his parents. After he learned of the World Martial Arts Tournament, he packed his bags and traveled there, his heart full of hope.

(Ultimate)Shine: Aki calls forth the ki in his body, letting it surround him in a glowing blue light. He focuses his ki to a single hand. Once he feels like his ki is focused enough, he reels back like he's about to throw a baseball, but instead, a beam of light that extends from his hand comes forth, glowing blue-ish white. It's surrounded by sparkles that resemble starlight. (Hence the name "Shine")
Seraphic Star: Aki forms a "X" with his arms to his chest and holds his hand out, palm up and charges a ball of ki into his hand, then fires it up into the air, raining down many small energy blasts in a ten foot by ten foot square, circle, or triangle, to be determined before Aki fires the blast.
Rush Burst: This simple attack relies on brute strength. For three punches and three kicks, he doesn't hold back in strength or speed, making this technique potentially devastating.
Vanish Trick: Aki shunshins around the opponent, landing a series of three punches and two kicks to vital areas.
Champion's Hammer: Aki leg sweeps the opponent, then brings down his fists like a hammer onto their chest as they fall.

The rain tapped Akihiko's face. He had been training out in the rain in the forest outside the city for the past four hours. Most people would have put off their training, but not Aki. Aki took it as a challenge. "296... 297.... 298.... 299... 300." Aki stood up and bruhed himself off. "One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four..." He immediately began to punch a tree over and over.
"Working hard, eh?" Aki turned towards the voice to see his friend Daisuke. Daisuke was a very athletic man with a lot of lean muscle. He brushed his sopping wet blond hair out of his way of his eyes.
"Daisuke." Aki smiled warmly, lowering his fists and meeting his friend at the edge of the clearing he was training in. "And I am working hard. Gotta be in top shape if i'm going to win that martial arts tournament." Daisuke laughed.
"Man, if you told me five years ago that Akihiko was going to participate in a martial arts tournament, I would have called you crazy."
"I didn't do that bad." Aki kicked a stone, uncomfortable.
"Brother, you got your ass kicked! It was hilarious." Daisuke pat Aki on his bare back.
"They did say that it was the second most successful fundraiser in Orange Star High history." Aki scratched the back of his head. "More than one good thing came out of it."
"Tell me about it, brother. Hey, if you win some cash, don't forget about your good friend Daisuke." Aki laughed in response.
"If I win any money, it's going to go towards helping people."
"Man, you and that charity stuff again. What do you even want to do with your future, man? I haven't heard a word out of you about college. What, do you want to be a martial artist for a living?" Daisuke nudged him.
"Oh god no!" Aki said immediately. "I mean, I love martial arts, but I want to do it because I love it. Not because it's my job."
"Yeah, I can understand that." Daisuke looked around. "Hey, I better go man. You better go too. You'll catch your death out here."
"Just a few more reps." Aki joked, illiciting a chuckle from Daisuke.
"Just take care of yourself brother."
"Yup." As Daisuke walked off, Aki walked back over to his spot and began punching the tree again. "One, two, three, four, one, two, three, four..."
